When EMI producer Norrie Paramor left to set up his own organization in 1968, he joined him as an assistant producer. Rice collaborated with lots of artists including Andrew Lloyd Webber, Alan Menken, Elton John. Rice worked with Webber for several jobs like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cricket, and The Likes of Us. Rice, Menken and John teamed up for the soundtrack of animated movies like Aladdin and The Lion King.
