Tim Raines started his baseball career when he was chosen by the Montreal Expos during the fifth round of the Major League Baseball Draft in 1977. He debuted together with the team in 1979 as a pinch runner. During his stint as a baseball player, he played for many teams including the New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, and Florida Marlins. He was named a National League All Star from 1981 to 1987, and Most Valuable Player during the All-Star Game in 1987. In 2013, he was elected to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. Raines’ training career began in 2003 when he managed Class A-Advanced Brevard County Manatees, an affiliate of the Montreal Expos. He served as Chicago White Sox’s trainer from 2004 to 2006.
