He is a grad of the University of Minnesota in 1958 using a diploma in psychology. The richest man in South Dakota, he is notorious in the business world for the credit cards issued by First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard. They offer low-limitation Mastercards and Visas to credit-impaired customers, and charge higher-than-average rates of interest and charges. These cards carried fees of $256 a year until the federal law prohibited these kinds of fees in the charge card business.
