The team won the Gold medal in the 1997 Royal Bank Cup against Summerside Western Capitals. Eventually, Scott moved to theWestern Hockey League’s Tri-City Americans. Scott joined the 1998 NHL Entry Draft as the very first round, 27th overall pick by the New Jersey Devils. Gomez received the Calder Memorial Trophy during his rookie year with the team. Scott was named as an alternate captain on October 3, 2008. After two seasons with the Rangers, he was traded to Montreal Canadiens in 2009. During the 2012-2013 NHL lockout, Gomez played for 13 games for the East Coast Hockey Leagues’ Alaska Aces. Gomez had a brief stint with the San Jose Sharks, and Florida Panthers. In 2014-2015 NHL season, Gomez returned and signed a one-year contract with the New Jersey Devils. Scott Carlos Gomez was born on December 23, 1979 in Anchorage, Alaska.
