Rick Tocchet started his career when he was drafted during the sixth round of the NHL Entry Draft in 1983, he was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers. Subsequently, he was traded to Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992. Along with his stint with all the Flyers as well as the Penguins, he led both teams to win the Stanley Cup respectively. Subsequently, in 2000 he returned to Flyers and after one season, he chose to retire. He had a short stint as an assistant trainer for the Colorado Avalanche through the 2002-2003 season; Phoenix Coyotes in 2005; and Tampa Bay Lightning in 2008. He was accused of funding a betting ring in New Jersey and was plead guilty to conspiracy and encouraging gaming. He was sentenced for 2 years probation.
