Rafer Alston started his career at St. Jerome School and Benjamin Cardozo High School. Rafer was a standout basketball player, and understood for his nontraditional moves which was the inspiration for the AND1 Mixtape Tour appeared in 1999. In school, he appeared for three seasons in Ventura College, Fresno City College,and California State University-Fresno. Alston entered the 1998 NBA Draft when he has chosen as the next round, 39th overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks. Rafer was traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2003. Other teams that Alston played for comprise the Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, and New Jersey Nets. Alston returned to the Miami Heat for the 2nd time in 2010. After starting for 25 games, Rafer was suspended for missing out a practice along with a game. A year later, Rafer signed a contract with Chinese Basketball Association’sZhejiang Guangsha for the rest of the season. It was reported that Rafer left the team to attend his friend’s funeral and told him not to return as a result of injury.
