Mansell is among the most famous British Formula One drivers of time, fans loved his attacking driving style, even if things didn’t always go to plan. Mansell drove for Lotus and Ferrari, but it was at Williams where he enjoyed most success. Mansell won the Formula One world championship with Williams in 1992 as well as the CART IndyCar title in the US the next year. When he was 24 he went into single-seater racing cars, winning the 1977 British Formula Ford championship. Mansell then sold his flat so he could afford to compete in Formula Three, and two years afterwards drove in his first grand prix, for Lotus.
