Moises Alou played baseball while attending Caada College at age 18. His bat speed and speed on the basepaths noticed several baseball scouts. In 1986, he was picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates as the second overall pick in the amateur baseball draft. He was traded to Montreal Expos which his father, Felipe, managed. After one season, Alou was traded again, this time for Houston Astros before the 1998 season. Others teams that one played for comprise Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and New York Mets. During his career, Alou won twice for the Silver Slugger Award in 1994 and 1998. One announced his retirement on March 5, 2009. Moises Rojas Alou was born on July 3, 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia.
