American Mark Stevens is a former venture capitalist at Sequoia Capital in Silicon Valley. In 1982, he joined Intel Corporation, a then mid-sized company planning to specialize on the PC boom. He became a partner at Sequoia Capital in 1989 and began to focus on semi-conductor, program, and systems-related investments. In 1999, he scored an early investment as an electrical engineer in images chip-maker NVIDIA, where he is still a board member.

In 2012, Stevens changed his status to special limited partner after almost 20 years at Sequoia. Stevens then created his own firm, S-Cubed Capital. His bundle has increased with stakes in Google and Linked In, which were both backed by Sequoia. Presently, Stevens is a part time lecturer at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and has invested in a number of his pupils’ start-ups. Stevens has been a generous donor to the University of Southern California, where he is a trustee, together with to Santa Clara University, his wife’s alma mater.
