Born Jeanine Ferris on June 2, 1951 in Elmira, ny, she graduated from Notre Dame High School in only 3 years rather than the standard four years. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Buffalo then her J.D. degree at Albany Law School in 1975. Jeanine Ferris served as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County in 1978 and then became the first female to serve as a judge in Westchester County Court. On August 10, 2005, Judge Jeanine Pirro declared that she’d seek the Republican nomination to challenge first-term incumbent and Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2006 election for the U.S. Senator from New York.
