John Arnold Net Worth $2.8 Billion
Born John Douglas Arnold in 1974, he was raised in a middle-class family in Dallas. His dad was a lawyer while his mom was an accountant. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in three years using a diploma in mathematics and economics in 1995. His father began his career as an oil analyst for Enron but was promoted to assistant dealer. Enron failed in 2002 and he founded his own business, Centaurus Advisors, LLC, using his gains. It currently has an estimated $3 billion in assets under management. His workers included some big names in energy trading such as former Enron CEO Greg Whalley, Bill Perkins, Mike Maggi, and Conrad Goerl.
John Douglas Arnold along with his wife Laura, who are signatories of the Giving Pledge, plan to dedicate much of their time to philanthropy, particularly for their $1.3 billion Laura and John Arnold Foundation. The couple, who’ve already given away more than $1.2 billion, found in August the Giving Library, a set of videos featuring 250 charities, to help philanthropists learn about the nonprofits. When the couple began returning capitals to his investors, Centaurus was already 4% net of fees through May.
