Henrikh Mkhitaryanfollowed the footsteps of his father, Hamlet when he joined the Pyunik FC in 1995. In 2006, he became a pro when he was promoted to the first team of Pyunik. During his tenure with all the team, they won the Armenian Premium League four times and Armenian Supercup in 2007 and 2009. Pyunik landed a spot as a midfielder for Metalurh Donetsk in 2009. During his first season with all the team, Mkhirtaryan ended with 14 goals in 38 appearances. The next season, he was hailed as the youngest captain for the team in the age of 21. In 2010, he signed up with the Shakhtar Donetsk. During Mkhirtaryan’s stay together with the team, he led them to win the Premier League, Ukrainian Cup and Super Cup in 2010 11 season. Mkhirtaryan transferred to Borussia Dortmund in 2013. The team received the DFL Supercup in 2014.
