Along with her kids, she is a significant stakeholder in the FEMSA drink corporation, a company which runs bottling plants and convenience stores in Latin America and Mexico. With a bundle of $7.4 billion in 2014, Eva Gonda de Rivera was considered as the fifth wealthiest man in Mexico. Even with the recent economic slowdown in the country, her bundle increased by approximately $300 million. It was only last year when she joined Forbes’ list of billionaires. While attending the Monterrey Institute of Technology, Forbes met her future husband, Eugenio Garza Lagera. She was married to her husband from 1957 until his passing in 2008. One of her daughters, Eva Maria Garza Lagera Gonda, is married to Jose Antonio Fernandez Carbajal, the present chief executive officer of FEMSA.
