At an early age of 16, Dustin Hazelett began his training in martial arts and Brazilian jiu-jitsu while studying at Lawrence County High School. He made his professional debut in the realm of mixed martial arts in 2004. Two years later, he started his UFC career in a match against Tony DeSouza. He fought several combatants such as Tamdan McCrory, Josh Burkman, Jonathan Goulet, among others. His career put on hold when Hazelett chose to return to school.
