David Robertson played for three years with the Central-Tuscaloosa High School’s baseball team. While with the team, they won two consecutive area titles. After three years with the team, he transferred to Paul W. Bryant High School which led them to win an place title. He joined University of Alabama Crimson Tide’s college baseball team in 2005. During his sophomore year, Robertson appeared in 29 games, compiling a 4-4 record, and has 3.02 AGE. Robertson entered the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft, where he was chosen by the New York Yankees in the 17th round of the choice process. In 2013, Robertson appeared in 70 games, going 5-1 with 3 saves and 2.04 AGE. Following the 2014 season, Robertson became a free agent and consented to sign a four-year contract with the Chicago White Sox.
