In college, he received an athletic scholarship from Pennsylvania State University. Wake worked out for the team’s Pro Day before he entered the 2005 NFL Draft. Though undrafted, he joined the New York Giants in April 2005 but released two months later. Additionally, he hailed as Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in 2007.
