Andreas Strungmann is the co-founder of Hexal AG and he’s an estimated net worth of $3.4 billion as of March 2013 according to Forbes. He is the 25th wealthiest person in Germany along with the 395th on earth. He holds a Medical Doctor degree from the University of Buffalo. It is now a German subsidiary company of the pharmaceuticals business Novartis and the biggest generics business in the German marketplace. Andreas and Thomas have been investing mostly in the German biotech sector through the brothers’ Hodling which focused on cancer research. The company obtained the large part of the anti-infective department from Bayer, now AiCuris, in late 2005. AiCuris struck a deal in October 2012 with Merck which obtained the rights to develop and sell drug candidates for AiCuris. The two have also established a neuroscience research center in Frankfurt which they named after their daddy Ernst Strungmann.
